You Need THIS Type of Horse to Succeed 👀…

Have you ever thought that you needed a certain type of horse to succeed as a rider?

Maybe you’re convinced you need a warmblood to move up the levels of dressage, a thoroughbred to excel as an eventer, or a quarter horse to win in western pleasure. But is that really the case?

I’m here to tell you that as long as you have a sound and willing horse, you have the type of horse you need to succeed.

On the latest episode of the No Bucks Given podcast, I interview Maddie Houser, better known as The Blonde and the Bay on Instagram. Maddie recounts her equestrian journey thus far, which began riding warmbloods in the dressage ring before transitioning to training and competing quarter horses.

Maddie is a shining example of the fact that any horse, purpose-bred or not, can do the job as long as they’re willing and sound. Correct training is correct training, and while some of the concepts may come more easily to horses specifically bred to perform, there’s no reason horses of all shapes, sizes, and breeding can’t grasp them, too.

Maddie’s story of the first quarter horse she brought up the levels of dressage is truly inspiring. She’s recently begun the dressage journey with a second quarter horse, which she details in the podcast episode.

Ready to get inspired to find riding success regardless of what type of horse you have? Listen to the episode wherever you get your podcasts.
