Do You Know If Your Horse Is In Pain?
If your horse were in pain, would you be able to tell?
If they’re blatantly limping on one leg, it’s pretty obvious that they’re uncomfortable.
But there are so many more pain signals your horse may be showing that are much more subtle.
For example, did you know that a horse constantly wanting to rub their face on you or on the walls could be a sign of jaw pain? Or that difficulty holding the lead behind in the canter can be a sign of muscular tension in the quadriceps group?
Many horse owners don’t know that their horse is in pain. The symptoms can be subtle, which can make it difficult to tell if and where they’re uncomfortable.
We want to help change that.
In the new free master class from Freely Forward Bodywork, Equine Body Mapping, I take you on a tour of your horse’s body. Starting at the head and moving all the way back to the hamstrings, I explain symptoms of pain in various muscle groups, then demonstrate palpation techniques for each to help you decipher if and where your horse is in pain.
Equine Body Mapping puts the power of knowledge in your hands to find areas of discomfort in your horse’s body. With this knowledge, you can take the necessary steps to help alleviate the pain and help your horse feel better sooner.
