Here’s what I Would tell my Younger Self

Let’s get a little sentimental and throw it back to the earlier days

Here’s what I would say to the equestrian I was 5 years ago:

  • Keep advocating for your horse, even when it seems like no one is listening. You are his voice, and you know him better than anyone.

  • Don’t give up on horses

    • Even when your wallet, your schedule, and your family might tell you otherwise… They are the best part of your life.

  • You will meet the worst, and the best people in the horse world, and you won’t always be able to tell the difference right away.

    • Don’t let the bad ones spoil everyone else for you. Soon you’ll meet people at the barn that will become your family.

  • Even though it seems impossible, you WILL get to have a career doing what you love everyday

    • And it will make everything else you’ve gone through totally, 100%, worth it.

  • You can achieve anything, you just have to get started.

    • A grand prix horse wasn’t built in a week, neither is a successful small business. Chipping away at your riding and business goals a little bit every day will totally change your life in a year.

What would you tell your younger self?
